We are excited to welcome Dr. Veronica Schmidt as a new addition to our dental practice in Albany, NY. Dr. Schmidt will join our team from St. Peter’s Hospital, where she practiced dentistry for the past 7 years. Get to know her and learn about her career below:
Dr. Veronica Schmidt was born in Lima, Peru and moved to the United States in 2000. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2006 and obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, College of Dentistry, in 2011.
After practicing dentistry in Nebraska, she relocated with her husband across the globe to Singapore in 2013 where she continued practicing dentistry and expanded her dental skills by focusing on Orthodontics.
Dr. Schmidt returned to the United States in 2016 and completed a General Practice Residency post-graduate program at St. Peter’s Hospital in Albany, NY. She continued working there as a staff dentist because she enjoyed overseeing the education of new dental residents and giving back to the community.

“I’m very excited to join Dr. Maestro and his outstanding team”, says Dr. Schmidt. She is a highly motivated individual with a passion to constantly learn and improve dental treatments. She has attended multiple continuing education seminars and continues to keep updated with the most current dental technologies. Dr. Schmidt adds, “I enjoy interacting with patients and working on individually tailoring the best comprehensive treatment to improve each patient’s smile. I believe that oral health is a key component in overall health and quality of life and I strive to keep my patients at ease and make their dental experience as pleasant as possible.”
Dr. Schmidt ‘s personal hobbies include spending time with her family and friends, practicing yoga, and traveling the world to experience new cultures.
