Have you been diagnosed with Obstructive Sleep Apnea and want to know what your options are? For Obstructive Sleep Apnea patients that aren’t a great fit for CPAP, we offer a comfortable, effective alternative to CPAP known as Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT). Hear from our patient, Mary, on her experience treating Obstructive Sleep Apnea with alternative therapy at Maestro Dental Wellness:
How did sleep apnea therapy at Maestro Dental Wellness help you sleep better?
Since I received my dental appliance the number of times that I stop breathing has substantially decreased. This has caused my quality of sleep to vastly improve.
Why did you look alternative sleep apnea treatment to CPAP?
When I was told that I had sleep apnea and my option was a CPAP machine, I immediately asked what other options I had. I did not want to be hooked up to a machine to sleep. Luckily, Maestro Dental Wellness offered an alternative sleep apnea treatment.
How would you describe your sleep before vs. after your dental appliance therapy?
My sleep before my dental appliance was broken up all night. Between waking myself up with my snoring or actually stopping to breathe, I would not get a full restful sleep. By using the dental appliance, I am now able to finally get a restful sleep. Dr. Maestro’s alternative for sleep apnea treatment has greatly improved my energy level.
What would you say to someone considering sleep apnea treatment at Maestro Dental Wellness?
I would say sit down with Dr. Maestro and review your options for sleep apnea therapy. CPAP may be what’s best. If not, try it (Oral Appliance Therapy) out for yourself. What’s the worst that could happen? It’s worked for me!
